More About Deb
Deb went on to write the Max Remy series, Jasper Zammit (Soccer Legend) and Ghost Club series and The Remarkable Secret of Aurelie Bonhoffen. Grimsdon, New City and Final Storm are her cranky novels about kids living in a climate changed world, with sea monsters, flying machines and girls who are good with swords. Her two picture books are Wolfie: An Unlikely Hero and Bear in Space.

Teresa: A New Australian, was inspired by her dad who was born in a cave in Malta during one of the heaviest bombing raids of WW2. Teresa is the name of her nanna, who travelled to Australia after the war with 6 young kids, including Deb's dad, not knowing what they would find. Deb visited Malta in 2016 where the president of Malta launched the book at her palace. That was a thrill!

Being an author, Deb has met so many incredible people, including Lauren Child and Kate Dicamillo. You can hear Deb interview Kate and Lauren here.

Deb has won many awards for her books including the USBBY Outstanding International Book Award, KOALA, YABBA, Aurealis & Speech Pathology Awards and the Maurice Saxby Award for services to children's literature.

She is a proud Author Advocate for Room to Read), a global organization creating a world free from illiteracy and gender inequality and Role Model for Books in Homes.

What she would mostly love, however, is to be as brave as her characters.
